The 2010 Miss Ayden Scholarship Pageant will take place on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 7:00pm for the Miss Ayden, North Carolina contest.

Nikki Starnes

Nikki Starnes is a 16 year old resident of Ayden, North Carolina where she is a junior at Ayden-Grifton High School. Nikki has been very active while attending AGHS where she has previously served as freshman class president and vice president of the Business Technology Academy. Nikki has has been a member of the Health Occupation Student Association, Health Science Academy, AVID, and the National Junior Honor Society.
In addition to her service at school, Nikki does a wonderful job giving of her time in her community. Nikki has been a participant in the Diabetes Walk, a member of Young Life, volunteers at Give 2 The Troops, and has made blankets for families at the Ronald McDonald House.
Nikki was recently honored with the Daughters of the American Revolution Award. This award was given to her based on her many characteristics and positive qualities to include loyalty, honesty, responsibility, and integrity.
Nikki has aspirations to attend Brigham Young University to study nursing and one day become a neonatal nurse and possibly pursue a career in forensics in the future.
Nikki's parents are Mr. and Mrs. John Starnes and she has two siblings, Joshua and Phoebe. Nikki is also the proud grandaughter of Jan Fowler and Patricia Carman.

Caroline Mumford
Caroline is 13 years old and an active student at Ayden Middle School. Caroline participates is the AMS Student Government Association, the school newspaper, chorus, and was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. Caroline is a cheerleader and enjoys playing softball and soccor.
Caroline is known for being outgoing, honest, and friendly to others. She aspires to one day become a veterinarian because of her love for animals.
Caroline is daughter to Kenneth and Dana Lewis and Tim and Ellen Mumford.
2009 Junior Miss Ayden
Chloe Smith
Chloe is a 10 year old student at Ayden Elementary School. Chloe sings in the AES Chorus and enjoys playing softball, riding her skateboard, and playing the Nintendo Wii. She is known for being a nice person, fun, and encouraging to others. Chloe wants to be a successful singer when she becomes older and would love to be able to tour the world.
Chloe is daughter to Ashley and Bonnie Smith.
2009 Little Miss Ayden
Halei Ward
Halei is 9 years old and a student at Ayden Elementary School in the 4th grade. Halei is an active member at her church, Rose Hill Free Will Baptist, and belongs to the Awana Club. Halei enjoys playing basketball, softball, running, and riding her bike. She is a member of the girl scouts and is an excellent horse rider.
Halei has a love for all animals and because of that she aspires to become a veterinarian when she is older. Halei would one day like to own a ranch where she can house lots of animals.
Halei is known for being a happy, caring, and loving person. She is the daughter of Lisa Lancaster and has two brothers, Jordan and Christian, and a sister, Allison.

Ashlee Capizzi
Ashlee is 5 years old and a kindergarten student at Ayden Elementary School. Ashlee belongs to the Awana Club at Landmark Baptist Church and is a ballet student at North Carolina Dance and Arts. She enjoys playing tee ball and soccer in her spare time.
Ashlee is best described as a curious, adventurous, and free spirited person. When she becomes older, Ashlee wants to be a fire fighter just like her dad.
Ashlee is daughter to Christian and Katherine Capizzi.
2009 Wee Miss Ayden
Karleigh Rouse
Karleigh is 3 years old student at Ayden United Methodist Preschool. She attends Reimage Church and is a member of the Children's Ministry. Karleigh enjoys playing in the pool during the summer, coloring, and jumping on the trampoline. She also loves to play dress up and spend time with her dog.
Karleigh is known for being a loving, energetic, and shy young girl. She recently started taking dance lessons at Stage of Grace this fall and looks forward to being active in her community.
Karleigh is daughter to David and Jamie Rouse.
